Check In With Yourself

I recently purchased an Omron blood pressure cuff. Why, you ask? I’m in my early 30’s, that’s still young. There is a fairly strong family history of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. My goal is to prevent years of slow “silent” damage to my own cardiovascular system so that I can stay healthy for my growing little family, and continue to treat patients for many years to come. All too often we in the healthcare field ignore and neglect our own health. I do not want to perpetuate this problem.

I encourage all healthcare professionals (medical assistants, nurses, PAs/NPs, and physicians) to check in with yourself. You are in the best position for care for your family and patients if your health is taken care of first.
