New Week

Today starts a new work week on consult service. For non-post-call fellows, Monday morning starts with continuity clinic. Once we’ve staffed our patients and (ideally) finished all of our clinic notes, the next step is driving back over to the hospital to begin seeing new inpatient consults. Have a good week, everyone! Working Through the Pandemic

I feel incredibly grateful and fulfilled to be practicing gastrointestinal medicine during the pandemic. Though we’ve encountered new challenges during these unpredictable and trying times, I feel that my co-fellows and supervising attendings are all really supportive. A healthy work family is so important, especially now! Photo by Mike van den Bos.

Educating Others

Teaching other people about diagnosis and management of any particular disease is critical. It’s our job as physicians to educate patients (and those who care for our mutual patients), so that they are able to live a healthy and productive life. Photo by Sharon McCutcheon.
